Balancing paid work and unpaid care work should be considered in the policy design. It means that a two-pronged strategy needs to pursue with the aim of promoting the provision of public care services, including childcare and elder care services, and mainstreaming key interventions to enable the recognition, reduction and redistribution of unpaid care work into public sector policies and programs.
