A Realization to Sustainable Forum


DAY 3
October 2, 2019 (Wednesday)


We kick off today's Forum with Special Sessions of Rights to Housing, International Workshop on 2030 Agenda for Human Rights Cities, and International Human Rights Policy Session, among others. Thematic Session on Environment, Children, the Elderly and State Violence as well as Culture Tour to the Gwangju Design Biennale. Despite the weather, we see a good turnout during the whole three days.

We conclude this year's Forum with the Closing Ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Speakers read out the comprehensive report of sessions' results, and adopted declaration and commemoration and commendation of mayor's award.  We'd like to thank those who participated and supported this year's Forum. We will see you again next year for the 10th World Human Rights Cities Forum on May 17, 2020. May human rights and peace prevails for everyone.

Special Sessions

Venues: KDJ Convention Center, 2F, 3F

Leaders of human rights across the globe share opinions and experiences related to human rights cities.


Thematic Sessions

Venue: KDJ Convention Center, 2F

These sessions discuss questions raised from Gwangju as a human rights city in regard of children/ youth, its role of governance and private organizations for active aging people to ensure human rights for the elderly.


Closing Ceremony

Venue: KDJ Convention Center, 3F

We finally conclude this year's Forum through comprehensive report of session results from Plenary Sessions 1 and 2, Thematic Session, International Workshop on 2030 Agenda, International Human Rights Policy Session and recitation of Human Rights Preamble. 


Featured Speaker 

Fadhel Moussa(Tunisia)

and Tunisian lawyer. He is also an international expert with numerous international organizations and a lawyer registered with the Tunis Bar. He is currently the mayor of  Municipality of Ariana since 2018, after being elected in the first local democratic elections this North African country had in its recent history.
