Solidarity for Advancing the Universality of Human Rights in Sport: Slowly, but Surely

CHANG Youngchul [CoChair, Civic Network for Justice in Sport]

1. Introduction: The Transformative Power of Sport as Humanitys Most Noble Language

Sport is more than just a game of physical prowess; it is one of the most powerful and universal languages ever invented by humanity. It possesses a mysterious power to instantly dissolve invisible barriers race, religion, ideology, and borders connecting people through shared emotion. The sight of an athlete gasping for breath as they push beyond their limits allows spectators to experience the triumph of human dignity, awakening the most noble values within us.

If our solidarity becomes strong, even if the process is slow Slowly, the world where our children can enjoy only the joy of running without fear of discrimination and violence will Surely come. I end my speech with the hope that the great power of sport to change the world will once again burn toward human rights.
