Civic Oversight and Resident-Centered AI Governance
Cesare Ottolini [Global Coordinator, International Alliance of Inhabitants]
Preamble: Why This Forum, Why This Moment
The World Human Rights Cities Forum is one of the most important spaces in the world where cities, civil society, academies and the international bodies, like the UN representatives, can speak to one another with equal seriousness about what local governments owe to the people who live in them. The International Alliance of Inhabitants, global network of social organizations of residents committed to the right to housing and the right to the city, is part of this conversation — not as observers, but as the organized voice of residents who experience daily what urban governance decisions mean in practice: a roof kept or lost, a neighborhood transformed or destroyed, a right honored or quietly overridden.

.
We carry this responsibility to the present generation. We carry it, above all, to those who will inhabit the cities we are deciding today.
